Hello RV Owner,

You may or may not be aware.

Both of the major satellite TV providers are moving forward to discontinue offering standard definition services.  This effort either has already been implemented or will be executed in the near future.

What does this mean for you?  Basically it is suggested that, if you have an “In-Motion” or a stationary “Auto-Tracking” satellite system it either currently does not work or may fail to work in the near future.  This change is estimated to affect systems that were manufactured prior to 2014, thus, simply making the system a “Boat Anchor.”  Sad but true.

You WILL be affected if you use a manual crank-up or a tripod-based dish system.

Though there may not be an “official statement” from the providers, you can research this information through quite a few “RV” based forums on the internet.

What to do about it?  Unfortunately, if you wish to continue to use the conveniences of an auto tracking satellite system then you WILL need to upgrade to a current model.  This will not affect your actual television sets, only your satellite equipment.
